Capturing images good enough to eat is Elisabeth Coelfen’s (elisabethcoelfen.com) bread and butter, and she’s quickly become an expert.

“I’m a stock photographer, so while I can shoot what I love I also have to consider what food trends and motifs are missing from my portfolio. Sweet foods are always good sellers, but miniature cakes are selling extremely well at the moment. I decided to bake some mini bundt cakes and pair them with my signature pastelcoloured props and a home-made crepe flower.

“While I often shoot from above, I never climb any ladders for this technique. Instead, I use a massive studio stand and shoot tethered. I use a wireless remote control to zoom in and then set the right focus manually.”
