16 JULY ’70s DAY

Dust down your Griffin, dig out your 14-inch flares and skintight Bay City Rollers T-shirt, it’s time to relive the 1970s. Expect glitter-flake paint, twostroke fumes, packs of Fizzies, choppers and a goodtime vibe. The Ace crowd ebbs and flows throughout the day, so pull up a chair, spark up a No.6, sit back and soak up the show. Where: Ace Cafe, London How much: free Go: ace-cafe-lon 0208 961 1000

This meet, at Shropshire’s popular Raven Cafe, is attempting to be the biggest gathering of female bikers on the planet – they’re hoping to top 1000. It’s aimed at women, but blokes can pop along; there’s a separate bike park for us herberts. As well as connecting riders, encouraging ride-outs (there are plenty of spectacular routes leading from Whitchurch) you’ll be able to get stuck into the vast (and highly recommended)

menu at Lynn’s Cafe. Kick-off is at 9am – perfect timing for a colossal breakfast in fact. Where: Lynn’s Raven Cafe, Whitchurch, Shropshire How much: free (not food) Go: face events/598201203708693/

The coastal Lincolnshire resort is famous for its winter beach races, but there’s good reason to ride there in summer too – to the Bike Night. The High Street is the hot spot for bikes, beer, music and stuff to gawp at. The ride-in from the north on the A1031 coastal road is a blast, yes, but by far the best route in is following the A157 from just south of Louth – it’s bend after bend after bend. Just keep your eyes peeled for tractors, cameras and 30 limits. Kicks off at 6pm and goes until 9. Where: Mablethorpe High Street, Lincs How much: it’s free Go: face events/1635016776790665/

Blimey, round six already? Yup, and both riders and spectators love Donington’s swoopy layout. Plus, this CRMC meeting is part of the Donington Classic Festival, so there’ll be owners’ club bikes, trade stands, parades, special guests and... a relaxed noise limit for the two days. Where: Donington Park, Leics How much: adults £17 each day (£30 w/e), £12 senior citizens, children 13 and under free Go: doning
