GET OUT THERE
Close, exciting, competitive and compelling racing – that’s Superstock. It’s also one of the most cost-effective forms of racing there is. So how do you get involved?
Get a bike. VFR, GSX-R, FZ or GPX (early models). A project will rush you £500-plus. A minter up to £2000. Then you’ll need to race prep it: lockwire sump plug, oil and coolant plugs; fit a ‘shark fin’ chain guard; tip-top brakes; grippy rubber; decent shock and serviced forks. See crmc. co.uk for specific rules.
Racing licence. From £48. See acu. org.uk for form.
Riding gear. ACU gold helmet, tough one-piece leathers, gloves and boots.
Back protector recommended.
Dog tag with your name, D.O.B. and contact details. There are still four more rounds to go.
Ripe and ready for racing
