Practical Sportsbikes (UK) - - Buying -

Saul Towers, sales manager at Flitwick Motorcycles, has fond memories of the Yamaha FZR600R

“The FZR600R felt tighter and revvier than the other 600s I rode at the time. More of a proper sportsbike. Pirelli had just brought out the Dragon Corsa. Put a pair of those on, wind up the preload and grind off the ridiculously huge hero blobs all day long. Suzuki RF600, Kawasaki ZZ-R600 and early CBR felt lardy in comparison. When the ZX-6R came out in 1995 it was premium money. I was working at Motorcycle City at the time and we had a batch of FZRS in we were selling for about £1000 less than list. Most of the staff bought one.”
