The Classic Suzuki Track Day at Cadwell Park on 13 September proved pretty busy for a midweek schoolday. twice the ravenous hordes ate the cafe out of food.the event’s popularity was easy to understand when you look at the line-up. Barry Sheene’s 1976 and 1977World Championship-winning XR14 RG500S were displayed and paraded and, unlike those events where you can barely get near the bikes, the faithful were able to get right up to the machines.

Also included in this race bike feast was Kenny Roberts Jrs’ 2000 RGV500.TEAM Classic Suzuki also showed their XR69 rep, RG500, and Katana; fresh from action at the Classic TT.

For road bike fans, Suzuki showcased its Vintage Parts Programme with the TL1000S built at Motorcycle Live in 2014 with help from PS, the GSX-R750F the team restored in 2015, and a GSX-R1100L.

You couldn’t escape the famous faces either, with Guy Martin, Jamie Whitham, John Reynolds, Steve Parrish, Mick Grant and Phil Read all in attendance with most of them getting a run-out on the race parades too.a side from the competition class there were four other groups taking to the track on Suzukis of all ages.

Buoyed by the success of this year’s event, the guys from Suzuki were talking about doing the same again next year before the day was even over.this one is set to become a fixture.
