TRINITY III TAKES A TRIP TO LONDON
Steve Rothery Band confirmed as headliners for 2018 prog charity event.
Trinity III, in association with Prog, will be held on May
12, 2018 with Steve Rothery Band headlining a six-act bill. Touchstone and Ghost Community have also been confirmed to play, and there will be a return of the popular prog raffle and auction. More bands are still to be announced.
“The whole aim of Trinity is to raise as much money as possible for cancer charities so if we could sell out next year’s event, that would be amazing,” says co-organiser and Ghost Community bassist Matthew Cohen. “We want to give fans good value so we’ve decided to keep the ticket cost at the flat rate of £30. This means six bands, at £5 a band, at a top London venue.”
The idea for Trinity first came about back in 2014 and the events have so far raised around £15,000 for cancer charities. Organisers have already secured some top auction prizes for next year’s event, which they hope to announce soon.
“We get so many incredible bands offering so many incredible prizes – they always want to know what they can do to support the event and help as raise as much money as possible,” says Cohen. “Marillion have been very generous with prizes for the auction, and to have Steve Rothery Band headlining next year’s event… what a coup that is! It’s going to be one helluva show.”
