Ab­so­lute Ra­dio, 9 August, 9pm Sarah Cham­pion in­tro­duces high­lights from the Sh­effield out­fit’s re­cent set – recorded live at the Nos Alive fes­ti­val in Lis­bon, Por­tu­gal, ear­lier this month. Ex­pect tracks from new al­bum Tran­quil­ity Base Ho­tel & Casino plus a lib­eral sprin­kling of Arc­tic Mon­keys clas­sics as well.

ROCK’N’ROLL FOOT­BALL

Ab­so­lute Ra­dio, 11 August, 2pm Co­me­dian and writer Matt Forde joins Ab­so­lute Ra­dio’s Matt Dyson – two Matts with, bizarrely, a shared love of Not­ting­ham For­est FC – to launch the new Premier League season. High­lights in­clude the best rock mu­sic from the last four decades plus plenty of pithy asides and goal up­dates through­out.

MILES KANE IN­TER­VIEW

Ab­so­lute Ra­dio, 12 August, 9pm Birken­head’s best dressed man joins Danielle Perry to chat about his ca­reer so far, as gui­tarist with The Lit­tle Flames, front­man of The Ras­cals, and his suc­cess as one half of The Last Shadow Pup­pets with Arc­tic Mon­keys’ Alex Turner. Plus, ex­pect to hear how the co-writes came about, with both Jamie T and Lana Del Rey, on his lat­est al­bum Coup De Grace.

THE NO RE­PEAT GUAR­AN­TEE

Ab­so­lute Ra­dio, 24 August, 9am Week­days nine to five, Ab­so­lute Ra­dio never plays the same song twice. It’s called the “No Re­peat Guar­an­tee”. As it’s the Fri­day be­fore a Bank Hol­i­day week­end, the Mu­sic Team is tak­ing the day off and let­ting you choose the songs. Claire Sturgess and Sarah Cham­pion are in charge, tak­ing re­quests through­out the day from 9am.

FAM­ILY TREE SPE­CIAL

Ab­so­lute Ra­dio, 27 August, 7pm Five hours of bril­liant records – each one linked to each other in some way. Danielle Perry is your host, ex­plain­ing the con­nec­tions be­tween songs by the likes of Pulp, Paul Weller, Blondie and The Beach Boys, for an ex­tended edi­tion of Ab­so­lute Ra­dio’s Fam­ily Tree.
