Primrose perfection

Quick Cards Magazine - - Quick Fixes -

My Mum’s birthday is coming up, and as she loves gardening I was thinking of making her a pretty floral card. Do you have any ideas for a card design, please? Sandra Smythe, Walsall

Sue: I think this month’s cover gift would be perfect for your mum’s card. I started by creating a shaped card blank by placing the top of a large frame die over the folded edge of a 14cm card base and cutting through both layers. Pink polka dot paper was cut from a smaller frame die and attached to the base, then a strip of green card was embossed with the fern embossing folder, layered onto pink card and attached to the centre. I stamped the primroses onto a 9cm square of white card and more flowers were stamped around the edges, which I coloured with markers. I layered the topper on pink and green card and secured to the base with foam pads. Finally, “Happy Birthday Mum” was printed onto white card and attached to the left side of the card front.
