TfL cracks down on harassment
Transport for London (TfL) says a campaign launched in April 2014 to crack down on unwanted sexual behaviour on the capital’s transport network is proving a success.
TfL, the Metropolitan Police and British Transport Police launched the ‘Report it to stop it’ campaign in a bid to encourage people to report to the police any behaviour that made them feel uncomfortable. A film produced for the campaign has been watched by almost eight million viewers.
The number of reports rose by 31% in 2015-16 compared with the previous year, and 1,716 reports of sexual offences led to over 500 arrests.
