Hymek ‘first’ for Mid-Nor­folk Rail­way’s diesel gala

The first ever visit of a Hymek to the Mid-Nor­folk Rail­way will take place on Septem­ber 9-11, dur­ing the rail­way’s diesel gala.

D7017 will travel from the West Som­er­set Rail­way. Owned by the Diesel & Elec­tric Preser­va­tion Group, it will be the first Class 35 to at­tend the MNR and the first hy­draulic to op­er­ate at the line. D1015 Western Cham­pion at­tended the April 2014 event, but was not used.

Two Class 20s will also visit, from the Sev­ern Valley Rail­way. The lo­co­mo­tives - D8059 (20059) and D8188 (20188) - will move by rail.

More vis­it­ing lo­co­mo­tives are ex­pected to at­tend the event, which will also fea­ture home lo­co­mo­tives 47367 and 47596 Alde­burgh Fes­ti­val. Other res­i­dents 37003, 50019 Ram­i­lies and 73210 are all un­der­go­ing re­pairs.

Harry Nee­dle Rail­road Com­pany 20069 and 31235 re­main at the MNR but are not ser­vice­able.
