Caernar­fon: Site prepa­ra­tions for the Ffes­tin­iog and Welsh High­land Rail­way’s new £ 2.2 mil­lion station will start in Novem­ber. Work on the main build­ing is sched­uled to be­gin next March, for com­ple­tion in early 2018.

Coed y Blei­d­diau: The Ffes­tin­iog Rail­way has been suc­cess­ful in its £400,000 ap­peal to re­store the for­mer su­per­in­ten­dent’s cot­tage and lease it to hol­i­day­mak­ers. The Land­mark Trust is taking on the semi- derelict 1863 build­ing, and has al­ready in­stalled a new roof.

Kid­welly: The mile- long cy­cle­way on the for­mer rail­way align­ment to Kid­welly was of­fi­cially opened on July 31. The project has cost £ 300,000.

Pem­bury: Four peo­ple re­quired hos­pi­tal treat­ment af­ter a train de­railed on the town’s minia­ture rail­way on Au­gust 18. An­other 13 suf­fered lesser in­juries. Pen­maen­mawr: Work to up­grade the station foot­bridge has been com­pleted. The met­al­work was taken away to a Cardiff con­trac­tor ear­lier this year.
