Coed y Bleiddiau: The Ffestiniog Railway has been successful in its £400,000 appeal to restore the former superintendent’s cottage and lease it to holidaymakers. The Landmark Trust is taking on the semi- derelict 1863 building, and has already installed a new roof.
Kidwelly: The mile- long cycleway on the former railway alignment to Kidwelly was officially opened on July 31. The project has cost £ 300,000.
Pembury: Four people required hospital treatment after a train derailed on the town’s miniature railway on August 18. Another 13 suffered lesser injuries. Penmaenmawr: Work to upgrade the station footbridge has been completed. The metalwork was taken away to a Cardiff contractor earlier this year.
