“Does anyone care about passengers in all of this?” he asked. “This amounts to 13 days of strikes in 25 working days. It is now time for the Government to step in and do something about this disgraceful situation.
“We have had a year of daily delays amounting to five, six or seven hours a week. While we can claim for compensation, this does not in any way make up for the delays. This compensation often arrives up to four months after the event. I firmly believe Southern should reduce the price of tickets by 50% for the duration of this disruption.
“It is now overdue for some railway professionals to be put in charge of running Southern Railway, and not the amateurs who are currently running it.”
