SWT Class 707s undertake overhead testing
New South West Trains 707001 and 707002 were employed on AC testing overnight on March 20/21, when the five-car dualvoltage electric multiple units ran from Wimbledon to Ferme Park carriage sidings. Owned by Angel Trains, the ‘707s’ are the first two of an order of 30 trains, but are the only members of the class fitted with transformers and pantographs. The testing was required by the owners to gauge performance should the trains be cascaded.
