Class 46 to spend summer at NNR

Rail (UK) - - Fleet News -

Preserved Class 46 D182 (46045) will be hired to the North Norfolk Railway this summer.

The Type 4 is based at the Midland Railway - Butterley, and will move to the NNR before Easter. It will work at the NNR’s gala on June 9-11 and will remain in Norfolk for the summer. Running days will be planned for the locomotive (the first ‘46’ to visit the railway).

The ‘46’ is needed because residents D5631 (31207) and 25057 are both out of action undergoing repairs, leaving D6732 (37032) as the only active member of the NNR diesel fleet.

Returning to the NNR is 20227, owned by the Class Twenty Locomotive Society, and which is also main lineregistered.
