EMU testing to Didcot begins
Below: Great Western Railway Electrostars have started running to Didcot Parkway on training duties. The electric multiple units are based at Reading, and are used by GWR on passenger trains between London Paddington and Hayes & Harlington. This will extend to Maidenhead in May, and is expected to extend further west as Network Rail energises the overhead line equipment. On Above: Great Western Railway Electrostars are unable to move from their Reading depot eastwards due to the lack of overhead wires from the Berkshire town. Instead, they are deployed westbound on testing and training. On March 21, Direct Rail Services 57306 Her
Majesty’s Railway Inspectorate 175 stands at Reading depot with GWR 387144 and 387140, ready to haul them to West Ealing Sidings following the first day of testing. DARREN FORD.
