Preser­va­tion de­but for Mid-Nor­folk Class 37/5

The Mid-Nor­folk Rail­way’s new­est res­i­dent, 37688, passes Rashes Green (near Dere­ham) on April 28 with the 0930 Dere­ham-Wy­mond­ham Abbey. The ‘37’ was bought from Di­rect Rail Ser­vices by D05 Preser­va­tion, and this was its first public train in preser­va­tion. The gala was sup­posed to be at­tended by a DCRail Class 31 and ‘56’, Net­work Rail 31233 and a Rail Oper­a­tions Group Class 37, but var­i­ous op­er­a­tional rea­sons meant none of those at­tended - in­stead DRS sup­plied 37424 AvroVul­canXH558 and 57007 for two of the gala’s four days.
