Assessment on Bristol-Bath wires

-

The postponement of electrification between Bath and Bristol will continue to be the subject of ongoing assessment, Rail Minister Paul Maynard said in a Commons Written Reply on June 28.

Thangham Debbonaire (Labour, Bristol West) had asked if Government would review the decision to postpone stringing wires up west of Bath.

Maynard replied: “The programme of railway upgrades, including the railway line between Bristol and Bath, will continue to be subject to ongoing assessment of investment decisions. This is so that passengers and taxpayers get maximum value and so that passenger benefits are delivered in the best way possible. This includes consideration of what projects will be taken forward in the next rail investment period.”
