Tisbury doubling not a priority

Doubling the single-track section from Tisbury to Wilton Junction, near Salisbury, is not a priority, Lord Callanan told Lord Patten (Conservative) in a Lords Written Reply on June 28.

Patten had asked what the likely date was for the work to start. Callanan, the Government’s transport spokesman in the House of Lords, replied: “Network Rail have evaluated this scheme and have not identified it as a priority.”
