Stifled on the ‘455s’

All those RAIL readers complaining about new trains being ordered by First MTR for the South West Trains franchise have obviously never had to travel home from Waterloo in a Class 455 on a hot summer’s day.

The scandal is Stagecoach trying to eke out the life of the ‘455s’ on one of the few franchises where the passengers are not subsidised by the taxpayer! Paul Harrison, Kingston upon Thames
