ECML upgradeg schemes continue
The latest infrastructure upgrades to prepare for the introduction of Class 800/801 trains on the East Coast Main Line have been completed.
On August 25, all critical enhancement works to the power supply between London and Doncaster were completed, allowing the introduction of the trains from December. This work included the completion of six new sub-stations and a new 400kV National Grid sub-station at Essendine to feed power into the railway supply.
Platform lengthening at Durham, Northallerton and Stevenage was also completed.
