ECML up­gradeg schemes con­tinue

The lat­est in­fra­struc­ture up­grades to pre­pare for the in­tro­duc­tion of Class 800/801 trains on the East Coast Main Line have been com­pleted.

On Au­gust 25, all crit­i­cal en­hance­ment works to the power sup­ply be­tween Lon­don and Don­caster were com­pleted, al­low­ing the in­tro­duc­tion of the trains from De­cem­ber. This work in­cluded the com­ple­tion of six new sub-sta­tions and a new 400kV Na­tional Grid sub-sta­tion at Essendine to feed power into the rail­way sup­ply.

Plat­form length­en­ing at Durham, Northaller­ton and Steve­nage was also com­pleted.
