First IEP train to Paignton

The first Class 800/0 to reach Paignton (800001) stands at the Devon town’s station on August 28, ready to operate the 2330 to Stoke Gifford. The ‘800’ was used for gauging trials at Torre and Torquay, as well as at Paignton. It also visited Goodrington Yard. Class 800s are not expected to visit the resort, although the Class 802 bi-modes will do so from next summer.
