A key concern of both unions and lobby groups has been the assistance afforded to wheelchair users on services without an On Board Supervisor, especially at stations that are not staffed during all hours of operation.

The new draft agreement states: “If the driver becomes aware of a passenger with reduced mobility waiting to board or alight from a service running without an OBS, they should inform the Signaller/Control, who will take responsibility for making appropriate arrangements to assist the passenger.”

As with previous versions of the agreement, a joint working party of eight company and union officials will monitor DOO.
