Upgrade begins at Kilmarnock

A £2.7 million project to improve access at Kilmarnock station began on February 26.

Over a nine-month period, new lifts will be built to provide step-free access from the existing underpass to Platforms 1-4. The underpass will also be lowered and resurfaced, with staircases and handrails renewed.

The work is due to be completed by December 2018.
