LNER crews be­gin train­ing on Azu­mas

Crew train­ing for LNER staff on Class 800/801 Azu­mas is well un­der way on the East Coast Main Line.

Run­ning from Hi­tachi’s Don­caster de­pot, and Heaton and Ferme Park car­riage sid­ings, paths are in place for trips to Peterborough, Ret­ford, York and Lon­don King’s Cross.

So far, bi-mode five-cars 800201/202 have mainly been used, as well as 800103 and elec­tric five-cars 801101/102. At the start of Au­gust, nine-car 801201 started to ap­pear reg­u­larly on the main line, hav­ing spent most of the year at Don­caster de­pot.

Other LNER Azu­mas at Don­caster are 800105/107-109. The trains en­ter traf­fic from De­cem­ber 4, run­ning to Hull and Leeds from Lon­don King’s Cross.
