RMS ‘08s’ at Mid-Norfolk Railway running weekend
Having cancelled its diesel gala planned for September 28-30, the Mid-Norfolk Railway has confirmed that it will use two RMS Locotec Class 08s at a truncated event.
The gala cannot be staged because of infrastructure work related to the £3 million storage deal agreed with Greater Anglia. Instead, locomotives based at the railway will be used for a running weekend.
However, the MNR will use 08754 and 08847, which have been stored at Dereham since RMS lost the contract to supply GA with Class 08s at Norwich Crown Point. The ‘08s’ will run from Dereham to Hoe/Worthing, operating two round trips each day.
Also in action at the gala will be 47367, 47596 Aldeburgh Festival and the MNR’s two Class 101 sets - 101695 and L836.
