Lincoln: A December completion date has been set for the new footbridge over the railway at Brayford Wharf East, close to the university. It will not feature lifts, after Network Rail’s successful appeal against the city council’s demands because of the high cost.
Louth: The Lincolnshire Wolds Railway has been clearing more trackbed of the former GrimsbyPeterborough line, for its new ¾ - mile, £180,000 southern extension to Pear Tree Lane crossing. It owns five miles as far as the industrial estate, where land has been reserved for a new station.
Micklefield: Platform 1 at the Leeds-York/ Hull station is being extended.
York: The National Railway Museum has decided against a tunnel or bridge to reach the new Central Gallery on Leeman Road, because of crime and safety risks. Walkers and cyclists will have to make a detour around the side of the building and through the South Yard. Plans for the area also include the construction of up to 2,500 new homes.
