Lin­coln: A De­cem­ber com­ple­tion date has been set for the new foot­bridge over the rail­way at Bray­ford Wharf East, close to the univer­sity. It will not fea­ture lifts, af­ter Net­work Rail’s suc­cess­ful ap­peal against the city coun­cil’s de­mands be­cause of the high cost.

Louth: The Lin­colnshire Wolds Rail­way has been clear­ing more trackbed of the for­mer Grims­byPeter­bor­ough line, for its new ¾ - mile, £180,000 south­ern ex­ten­sion to Pear Tree Lane cross­ing. It owns five miles as far as the in­dus­trial es­tate, where land has been re­served for a new sta­tion.

Mick­le­field: Plat­form 1 at the Leeds-York/ Hull sta­tion is be­ing ex­tended.

York: The Na­tional Rail­way Mu­seum has de­cided against a tun­nel or bridge to reach the new Cen­tral Gallery on Lee­man Road, be­cause of crime and safety risks. Walk­ers and cy­clists will have to make a de­tour around the side of the build­ing and through the South Yard. Plans for the area also in­clude the con­struc­tion of up to 2,500 new homes.
