Rail (UK) - - Fleet News - MARK PIKE.

Nine-car bi-mode 800109 approaches Eastleigh on September 4, running as the 1003 North Pole-Eastleigh depot. This was the first time an Intercity Express Programme train had run this far south on the third-rail network. Arriva Traincare is to carry out post-production modifications on the Class 800 fleet, with the LNER Azuma the first to visit. The ‘800/1’ had been delivered to Hitachi’s Doncaster Carr site the previous week, having been built in Kasado (Japan). Its first trip on the national network was on the previous day, when it ran south from the Yorkshire facility to the west London Hitachi depot.
