DB Cargo clinches Drax biomass deal

DB Cargo UK has won a fiveyear ‘hook and haul’ contract with Drax Group to move biomass to Drax Power Station.

The company will operate around 60 trains per week, running from Immingham and Hull Docks to the power station near Selby. Each will carry around 1,650 tonnes of product.

The power station supplies 12% of the UK’s renewable electricity and 5% of the country’s electricity requirements.
