£2.1m upgrade at level crossing

Network Rail is spending

£2.1 million on an upgrade of Daisyfield level crossing in Blackburn.

Crossing gates will be replaced and lighting installed. Associated signalling and telecoms equipment will be moved, while LED signals will replace existing structures.

NR will take advantage of the line closures to renew track between Preston and Blackburn.

The work began on November 21/22 and was due to be continued on November 28/29 and December 5/6.
