Fairer deals for land acquisitions
Thirty-six proposals relating to how land and property is purchased for HS2 will be introduced immediately, as Government seeks to deliver fairer deals for communities affected by the new railway.
This follows the Department for Transport’s Land and Property Review commissioned by HS2 Minister Andrew Stephenson and conducted over the summer.
The proposals include better communication, speeding up property valuations and disturbance payments, settling cases and disputes more quickly, more flexible compensation packages, and tailored support for businesses.
DfT said priority will be given to those suffering from the greatest impact.
