IT’S A MYSTERY?

I am trying to identify the motorcycle in this photo; sorry about the poor quality but it’s the best I’ve got. I understand that the gentleman astride the bike is William Lloyd and we think the photo was probably taken in the late 1930s.

I thought the machine is some sort of late 1930s Panther but, according to my enquiries at the Panther Owners’Club, apparently not. The best they have come up with is that it might be something foreign. My friend has grown up with this picture in the house and has always wondered what the bike was. So if you are able to shed any light on the mystery machine, we would be thrilled and extremely grateful. Mungo Ross, RC member
