ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE

Real Classic - - Letters -

I have noted, on a couple of occasions, correspondents referring to compression ratio, a mention of atmospheres / atmospheric pressure. This is incorrect. Compression ratio is calculated by dividing cylinder volume (including the combustion space), with piston at BDC, by the volume of the combustion space alone, measured with the piston then at TDC.

Hope this helps.
