Real Classic - - Backwards Glance -

It’s 50 years since the launch of the Norton Commando at Earl’s Court in 1967, and a horde of Nortons will be at the event to help celebrate the Commando’s half century. Noted Norton guru Peter Williams is guest of honour at the South Of England Classic Motorcycle Show and bikejumble on Sunday 29th October. Look out for an original 1973 JPN monocoque racer, a genuine Thruxton Commando, a 1963 Dunstall 500 Domiracer, one of the first fastback Commandos made and a Seeley Commando. These machines will all take part in the popular fire-up paddock so you can see and hear them firing on several cylinders...

Norton works rider Peter will be on hand all day, signing copies of his recently republished autobiography, with other factory staffers, Norton employees and Plumstead test riders taking part in a Q&A session. On top of all this, there’s the usual classic and club displays, trade stands and autojumble at the South Of England Showground, Ardingly, RH17 6TL. Gates open 10am, admission £6.
