Where Is Michaela?

Another girl, similar in looks to Jaycee, went missing before her 1991 abduction. Could Garrido have taken her first?

Real Crime - - They Stole Her Innocence -

The similarities surrounding the disappearance of Michaela Garecht and that of Jaycee left investigators wondering if twice- convicted kidnapper Garrido, with his predilection for young girls, might be behind the abduction of another California child.

After Jaycee was rescued, police immediately began searching the Garrido property to see if any clues about the missing nine- year- old girl would be unearthed.

Michaela went missing on 19 November 1988 in Hayward, California, three years before the abduction of Jaycee. She vanished in broad daylight, taken by a man in a white T- shirt who was described by witnesses as a white male in his 20s. He had what was described as acne or pockmarks on his face and shoulder- length, dirty blond hair. He was around 1.83 metres in height and had a slender build with fox- like, blue eyes.

When police compared Garrido to the sketch they saw a distinct resemblance. However, the convicted paedophile denied any involvement in the young girl’s disappearance, and no clues tying him to her disappearance were uncovered. Police continue to search for answers.
