THE GIRL WHO HANDCUFFED HOUDINI

CAN HOUDINI ESCAPE HIS OWN MURDER?

Real Crime - - Home Invasion - RELEASED OUT NOW AUTHOR CYNTHIA VON BUHLER PUBLISHER TITAN COMICS AVAILABLE IN HARDBACK Dave Cook

The death of legendary escape artist Harry Houdini is mired in mystery and conspiracy. History tells us that he died due to appendicitis, but this new retelling offers a new, more dangerous and sinister version of events.

Our protagonist is Minky Woodcock, who goes undercover as Houdini’s assistant after receiving a tip that his life is in danger. The snappy and sassy plot tees up several potential conspirators who want to expose him as a practitioner of the supernatural arts. Minky’s investigation takes her to dark séances, speakeasies and even sees her participating in Houdini’s deathdefying escape stunts.

The art captures the 1920s style wonderfully, while the well- paced script ratchets up the tension as the days count down to Houdini’s death. Minky’s search for the truth becomes increasingly urgent, culminating in an ending that paves the way for more Minky Woodcock adventures.

If you’re a sucker for crime and theatrics, you should give this a look.
