Real People’s resident ‘doggie doctor’, Nigel, answers your pet’s problems

Real People - - ANIMAL CRACKERS -

Dear Nigel,

I was a stray cat but a nice lady has just taken me in. Regular meals – yum! The only drawback is the vet says I need surgery to find out if I’ve been spayed. What?! Surely it’s possible to tell without an op? Nikita, Cardiff

Dear Nikita,

Some cats have scars as reminders of surgeries – others heal so there’s no way to tell. While it sounds drastic, an op to check you’ve been spayed – and for the procedure if you haven’t – is much less hassle than kittens. You deserve the quiet life! Love Nigel xxx
