Time is money

Real People - - PUZZLE TRAIL -

Some years ago, I in­her­ited this clock from my mother. It’s 14½in tall and 12in wide, with a depth of 5½in. I’d be grate­ful for any light you could shed upon it.

■ Judg­ing by the case, the clock dates from the early 1900s. I’d imag­ine it has a Ger­man move­ment that strikes with a wire gong. Sim­i­lar clocks sell for £50.
