DANNY MOVES OUT AFTER ‘SARAH HARDING AFFAIR’ EXPOSED
In the 25 years Joanne Mas has been with actor Danny Dyer, she’s endured numerous stories about him cheating being made public. She’s always stood by him, and he’s branded her ‘his rock’ – but after last month’s reports that Danny had a sixweek affair with pop star Sarah Harding, Jo has had enough.
Coupled with allegations of wild partying, which have put his EastEnders future in jeopardy, Danny, 40, has moved out of the home he shared with his wife and three children.
Last week, a delivery van was pictured moving items into his new, solo pad. His co-star Kellie Bright, who plays his onscreen wife, was on hand to help with the move.
‘Jo has been through a lot with Danny over the years and has always forgiven him for his mistakes – but she’s at the end of her tether,’ a source said.
‘Before he was forced to take his break from EastEnders this year, he was in a pretty dark place. Jo tried her best to support him, but it wasn’t easy. There have been a lot of rows.’
As Danny moved into his new flat in Hertfordshire, a pensive Jo, also 40, was seen looking at houses in an estate agent’s window, further fuelling speculation that the split could be permanent.
The friend explained, ‘Danny and Jo have been together for a very long time, and the common belief was they would never go their separate ways.’
The pair were childhood sweethearts, meeting when they were 14. Danny finally put a ring on Jo’s finger in September 2016, after she proposed to him, and they have two daughters, aged 20 and eight, and a son of four.
In his wedding speech, Danny said of Jo, ‘To be standing here with the girl I grew up with, looking so beautiful in her wedding dress, that is a lovely thing. Jo’s my best girl. The love of my life. Without her, I’d be nothing.’
In the past, Danny has fessed up to cheating on Jo, once saying, ‘I’ve done so many things I’ve regretted. I’ve royally f***ed up.’
But in 2015, Jo said Danny had finally put his indiscretions behind him. She said, ‘He’s got that out of his system.’
Although Danny’s six-week fling with Sarah reportedly happened prior to their wedding – back in 2012, when they filmed the movie Run For
Your Wife together – it’s still ‘left Jo humiliated’.
On top of that, Danny was forced to take a break from filming in February as BBC bosses ordered him to ‘get his head together’. The intervention came after an alcohol-fuelled meltdown at the National Television Awards in January, in which he had to be calmed down by his co-stars.
The source continued, ‘Jo was convinced after they were married things would be different. And while Danny’s fling with Sarah happened years ago, she was furious to find out that, on yet another occasion, she had been lied to.
‘In the past, some of her friends have encouraged her to leave Danny, but this was the first time she really began to listen.
‘Splitting up is a massive step for any couple, let alone a married couple with three kids who’ve been together for 25 years.’
