For­mer East­End­ers star Paul Ni­cholls is re­ported to have been se­ri­ously in­jured af­ter plum­met­ing from a wa­ter­fall in Thai­land.

Paul, 38, who played Joe Wicks in the BBC One soap, was trapped for three days in a rock pool af­ter fall­ing and smash­ing his leg while sup­pos­edly tak­ing a selfie at the Khun Si Wa­ter­fall at Koh Sa­mui.

The ac­tor now faces a £90,000 med­i­cal bill, as his kneecap was ‘ripped off’ in the fall, as well as con­tract­ing a trop­i­cal bug in his un­treated wounds. Paul was semi­con­scious and suf­fer­ing from hy­pother­mia when he was found.

He is now be­ing treated for his in­juries, telling friends, ‘I’m lucky to be alive.’
