Homesick Michelle feels lonely, as Mark continues to party...
Michelle Keegan is missing her family, and seeing her hubby’s busy social life is adding to her misery
On August 6, Mark Wright threw his wife, Michelle Keegan, a spectacular and boozy belated 30th birthday party in Spain.
That was three months ago, and it’s the last big night out Michelle has had.
A few days later, she flew to Kuala Lumpur to film BBC drama Our Girl, and Mark moved Stateside to present TV show Extra.
But while Michelle – who is currently filming in Malaysia – has been keeping her head down, her husband has been partying up a storm… and it’s making Michelle feel jealous.
Our insider says, ‘Michelle can’t wait to be back in the UK with her nearest and dearest. Mark was in London and Essex last week, filming for Extra, so he saw his family and friends, but Michelle doesn’t have that luxury. He even took co-host Mario Lopez to his favourite Sheesh restaurant with Olly Murs.
‘Michelle hasn’t been back in three months. Filming’s been intense, and if she does have a night – or a few hours
– off, then she spends it unwinding or learning lines. She certainly hasn’t been able to socialise like Mark.’
‘She’s in contact with those she’s close to, but it’s not the same as being with them. She can’t help but feel a bit jealous when she sees Mark having fun while she’s not around, and it’s causing arguments,’ adds the source.
Last week, Mark was snapped outside a London club with a pretty brunette. We’re told the girl in question is a friend of Mark’s social crowd, whose boyfriend was also out on the same night.
‘Michelle wasn’t annoyed at Mark for being out with that girl,’ explains our source. ‘It’s more that she feels lonely, because she doesn’t have her social network around her to keep her company, yet he’s not had to sacrifice anything.’ We’re told that Mark has ‘hardly had time to himself’ since being in LA, and he’s flown out his mum Carol, 57, dad Mark, 60, and sisters Jess, 32, and Natalya, 16. Not only that, but the 30-year-old has been encouraged by his management to network well to build up his portfolio. He’s interviewing Hollywood royalty, and was even invited to George Clooney’s Halloween bash. ‘Part of Mark’s job is networking, so his argument is – what’s he supposed to do? They’re both away for work, not just him,’ says our source.
‘But, of course, he also understands how she’s feeling. Her friends are going out together in Manchester, her husband is living in LA, and she’s in a hotel room on her own, seeing them having a good time via social media.
‘She misses her home comforts, so when Mark’s gushing about her on social media, it’s to reassure her that it’s not all fun for him, too – because he’s missing her.’
Michelle and Mark will next see each other in December, when next year’s Our Girl series wraps up filming. Michelle will head to LA to spend a couple of weeks with her husband before they head home for Christmas.
Last week, Michelle tweeted, ‘Being in Malaysia and seeing Christmas adverts!!! Excited isn’t even the word! Countdown is ON! #flyinghomeforxmas.’
