Coleen’s ‘focus is her kids and unborn baby’
WAG Coleen Rooney has ‘pressed pause’ on the stress and drama caused by her husband as she concentrates on a stress-free pregnancy
Coleen Rooney has endured a tough three months thanks to husband Wayne’s behaviour, but we’ve yet to see her wallow in self-pity. Instead, she’s kept her feelings over the night of August 31 – when the Everton footballer was caught drink-driving in the company of fame-hungry single mum Laura Simpson – under wraps, concentrating on looking after their three boys instead.
Last month, Coleen, 31, took Kai, eight, Klay, four, and 22-month-old Kit on a sunshine break to Dubai, supported by her mum, Colette. She was pictured playing happily with her sons, and the reason for her relaxed manner is to shield the little ones from the family drama, and keep her fourth pregnancy as stress-free as possible.
We’re told by a family friend, ‘The last few months have been some of the toughest Coleen has ever endured.
‘She’s suffered public humiliation, had to deal with Wayne supposedly kissing another woman and all while being pregnant – it’s been a nightmare.
‘But, ever since Coleen first heard about Wayne’s drink-driving arrest, she has prioritised her unborn baby.
‘She’s so strong and so determined to have a healthy, happy pregnancy, it’s like she’s pressed pause on all the drama surrounding Wayne. She’s blocking most of it out and concentrating on the most important things.
‘It’s part of the reason she’s not welcomed Wayne back with open arms yet – she was so angry with him and wanted nothing to do with him and all his drama.’
After months of speculation, Coleen announced she was expecting on August 18 – less than a fortnight before Wayne, 32, apparently ‘shared a kiss and a cuddle’ with 29-year-old Laura after a boozy night out in Cheshire.
‘So happy!!! Had scan and all checks are fine… Baby number 4 is on its way,’ she excitedly tweeted at the time.
Last week, we told you how Col – now thought to be seven months pregnant
– was privately fuming with Laura for shamelessly milking her role in the drama to garner fame and fortune.
After suggesting her sole purpose was to cash in on the encounter – tweeting, ‘If the outcome ain’t income, then I’m out’ – Laura put her VW Beetle up for sale for £12,250, 10 times its value. The car is the one Wayne was caught driving on the night, and Laura is trying to make money from its notoriety.
She’s also set up her own photo shoots, done paid interviews, and hired a publicist for ‘media enquiries’.
Wayne, meanwhile, has publicly apologised for his actions, and is carrying out his 100 hours of community service punishment.
He’s also desperate to win his family back. But his childhood sweetheart-turned-wife is putting him on the backburner while focusing her energy on their offspring.
A fortnight ago, Coleen threw Kai an eighth birthday party at their home with all his friends. His dad was invited, too.
