MOT... What does it mean?

A current MOT certificate is a must, preferably for a full 12 months. But be sure of a few points. It is a check of the bike’s roadworthiness at the time of the test. It’s not a service and it’s not a guarantee that everything works. You must still check everything yourself, to make sure you find any problems that could cost you money, or even make the bike dangerous.

Pay attention to the advisories section at the bottom of the MOT certificate, where the tester highlights any issues that would need attention or that needs work but aren’t an actual fail. Have they been fixed or will you have to do it?
