Triumph Street Scrambler
Like the previous Triumph 865cc Scrambler, launched in 2006, the Street Scrambler is closely based on its Bonneville road-bike sibling. In the new Scrambler’s case, it’s the 54bhp, 900cc parallel twin from the Street Twin rather than the 1200cc T120 Bonnie motor. The motor is almost unchanged for the Street Scrambler (fuelling changes to match the high-level exhaust), and so is the chassis spec: the same frame, the same non-adjustable 41mm KYB forks and preload shocks – with the same wheel travel – and the same single disc front brake. Only the addition of a 19in spoked front and Metzeler Tourance rubber, instead of the Street Twin’s 18in front, alters steering geometry a touch. So the Street Scrambler really isn’t much more than a lightly tweaked Street Twin – and none the worse for it.
