Triumph Street Triple R 2009-2012
> £3950-£6000 > 106bhp > 189kg > 675cc inline triple
The first Street Triple took a short run-up at the middleweight roadster universe and cleared the lot in a single bound. Its strong ties to the Daytona 675 imbued it with a light aluminium frame and sharp geometry, so its chassis ran rings round the opposition, plus it had one of the best-balanced roadgoing motors ever made. But not happy with all that, a year later Triumph created what they’d wanted to from the start: a posher R version that’s closer to an authentic Daytona streetfighter, with fully adjustable suspension, quicker steering and stronger four-piston front brakes. A well-kept R will still feel razor-sharp and enormous fun.
