‘The height has to be right’

-

I wanted to thank you for the article ‘The Height Stuff’. I had said to my partner that the size of the rider and the bike were important for confidence and safety, so it was nice to see, after reading the article, that other people had the same concerns.

I am 5’5” and bought my first ‘big’ bike, a Triumph Street Triple, after passing my test three years ago, at age 55. My partner saw it online at our local Triumph dealer. I took it for a test ride and was smitten! The seat height is perfect and I am in seventh heaven on it.

Can I ask if you have any plans to feature ladies motorcycling clothing? As a lady with a chest of more ample proportions, I had a lot of trouble finding jackets that fit. The jackets I’ve tried would not zip all the way up. I’ve got the right-fitting bike, now to find the right-fitting gear! Lindsey Church

Hi Lindsey, we are planning a round-up of women’s kit soon — it’s an often-overlooked thing in male-run bike mags. MW
