THE REALITY These silicone earplugs use a small filter that removes harmful high-frequency sounds (wind noise) while allowing through more low-frequency (speech and intercom speakers). There’s also a plastic sliding tab that lets you shut out more low-to-mid frequencies when you want. The difference, to my ears, is subtle. Fit and comfort are fantastic and getting impressions taken could not be easier — CFG comes to you. But outright noise reduction isn’t as high as a good set of foam disposables.
