Man left fighting for his life after being hit by car
A MAN is fighting for his life in hospital after being hit by a car.
The collision, involving a Vauxhall Astra, took place on Crompton Way, in Shaw, on Saturday just before 11.50am.
The pedestrian, aged 26, was taken to hospital in an ambulance with a serious head injury.
He remains in a critical condition.
The driver remained at the scene to speak with officers and no arrests have been made.
Greater Manchester Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Police Sergeant Brian Orr, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are doing all we can to support the man’s family at this very traumatic time and our thoughts remain with him as he fights for his life in hospital.
“Our investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding this collision remains ongoing and I would ask that anybody with information contacts the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
“We are appealing for anyone that witnessed the collision or may have any CCTV or dash-cam footage to please get in touch.”
