Mini mar­vel Lucy is new sole sis­ter

A SEVEN-YEAR-OLD girl has been recog­nised as a Val­ley store’s of­fi­cial ‘mini shoe tester’.

Lucy Wil­liams, from Whit­worth, won the role af­ter en­ter­ing a com­pe­ti­tion with Bacup Wyn­sors World of Shoes and im­pressed the panel with her ‘imag­i­na­tive’ en­try and a pho­to­graph of her­self mid-hand­stand.

She was cho­sen to put the Wyn­sors’ back to school range through the paces.

Prizewin­ner Lucy was able to take home her two favourite pairs, as well as a sur­prise £50 voucher for her to spend.

Lucy, who at­tends Tona­cliffe Pri­mary School, said: “I can’t wait to run around with my new pairs of shoes on the play­ground and tell my friends about how I won them.”

Her mum Lisa added: “Lucy is com­pletely thrilled about be­com­ing Wyn­sors’ mini shoe tester, she ab­so­lutely loves go­ing to school and tak­ing part in com­pe­ti­tions in the lo­cal com­mu­nity - it’s fan­tas­tic to see her en­thu­si­asm be­ing re­warded.”

Jan­ice Ri­ley, Bacup store man­ager, said: “For us, Lucy’s email and pho­to­graph re­ally ex­pressed per­son­al­ity, as well as her own per­sonal en­ergy.

“She is the perfect mini shoe tester.”
