Young dancers sweep board
A DANCE troupe from Milnrow swept the board at a top championships.
St Ann’s Morris Troupe took part in the Tameside Morris Dancing Organisation contest in Wales.
The baby and junior teams won the team of the year in their sections, the tiny and senior teams won runner up team of the year, while Keira Murphy won the baby leader of the year and the champion baby leader.
Imogen Longmuir and Amanda Crossley both won marching competitions and the whole troupe won the fun dance on the Saturday night.
All four teams also took first place in the championships.
A spokeswoman said: “All the trainers and parents are very proud of the girls and are looking forward to the coming season.”
The troupe trains from 6pm to 8pm every Tuesday at Moorhouse Primary School. Children aged four and above are welcome.
