Young dancers sweep board

A DANCE troupe from Mil­nrow swept the board at a top cham­pi­onships.

St Ann’s Mor­ris Troupe took part in the Tame­side Mor­ris Danc­ing Or­gan­i­sa­tion con­test in Wales.

The baby and ju­nior teams won the team of the year in their sec­tions, the tiny and se­nior teams won run­ner up team of the year, while Keira Mur­phy won the baby leader of the year and the cham­pion baby leader.

Imo­gen Long­muir and Amanda Cross­ley both won march­ing com­pe­ti­tions and the whole troupe won the fun dance on the Satur­day night.

All four teams also took first place in the cham­pi­onships.

A spokes­woman said: “All the train­ers and par­ents are very proud of the girls and are look­ing for­ward to the com­ing sea­son.”

The troupe trains from 6pm to 8pm ev­ery Tues­day at Moor­house Pri­mary School. Chil­dren aged four and above are wel­come.
