£1,200 is a fair gain for church

ATOTAL of £1,200 was raised for church funds at the au­tumn fair at the St An­drew’s, Dearn­ley,.

The St An­drew’s Pri­mary School choir pro­vided the entertainment and there were a num­ber of stalls.

A church spokesman said: “THE Au­tumn Fair at St An­drew’s, Dearn­ley last Satur­day, opened by the chil­dren of the St An­drew’s Pri­mary School choir, raised a mag­nif­i­cent £1,200 for church funds. The chil­dren sang beau­ti­fully and set the tone for a hugely-suc­cess­ful event.

“It was well at­tended and there was the usual ‘scrum­mage’ around pop­u­lar stalls such as tombola and home-made cakes and jams.”
